The Women’s Review of Books (WRB) publishes reviews, essays, fiction, poetry, and visual art by and about women. Work in translation is welcome. Previously unpublished work only. WRB pays $100 per accepted piece. All rights revert to the author/artist after publication.
WRB accepts previously unpublished, human-created work via Submittable.
If your work makes use of AI-generated images or prose, you must acknowledge your use of that technology.
Fiction Submission Guidelines
- Submit one story, up to 3,000 words (PDF, DOC, DOCX).
- Use standard 12-point font, double-spaced.
- Include a brief third-person bio (up to 100 words) and optional cover letter.
- Simultaneous submissions allowed; withdraw immediately if accepted elsewhere.
- Only one submission per reading period.
Poetry Submission Guidelines
- Submit up to 4 previously unpublished poems in a single file (PDF, DOC, DOCX).
- Start each poem on a new page; pagination appreciated.
- Include a brief third-person bio (up to 100 words) and optional cover letter.
- Simultaneous submissions allowed; withdraw immediately if accepted elsewhere.
- Only one submission per reading period.
Visual Arts Submission Guidelines
- Submit up to 5 previously unpublished images in a single PDF or portfolio-style document.
- High-resolution preferred (300 dpi).
- Include a brief artist statement and bio (up to 100 words).
- Simultaneous submissions allowed; withdraw immediately if accepted elsewhere.
- Only one submission per reading period.
